Green tea is thought to be the most healthy kind of tea. All teas come from the same plant and so share that plant's many medicinal qualities, but black and oolong teas are "fermented", green teas are not. As a result, the chemical properties of green teas are different, and have a higher concentration of the constituents thought to contribute to wellness. 

Green tea contains many nutrients that can be beneficial to ones health.

Tea also contains bioflavonoids and large quantities of polyphenols, many of which act as antioxidants. One of these polyphenols (EGCG) is found in no other plant and is a stronger antioxidant than vitamins E and C.

A report published in the Archives of Dermatology states that drinking 4 - 5 cups of green tea a day may prevent skin cancer. Epigallocaechin, a poly phenol found in green tea can be linked to prevention of early stages of skin cancer.

Evidence indicates a protective influence against hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure, stroke and heart According to study published in the archives of Internal Medicine, green tea considerably reduce risk of hardening of the arteries. It is suggested that drinking one cup of green tea per day can lower the risk by 96%.

A significant quantity of natural fluoride helps prevent tooth decay.
